During my recent stay at Tokonamiso, I found a tranquil refuge perfect for unwinding after long walks along the scenic Tsumago-Magome trail. While I had some initial concerns after reading various reviews, my experience at this hotel turned out to be quite pleasant. The hotel has no on-site dining, so I'd recommend bringing your own food or grabbing something in Magome before you arrive. It was quite handy having a fridge and tea-making facilities in the room. After a day of exploration, the spacious traditional-style room with its personal toilet was a welcome sight. What truly stood out for me was the access to the onsen at the sister hotel, Fuki-no-Mori. The open-air bath, especially, was a highlight of my stay-a real opportunity to relax in the healing waters surrounded by nature. The shuttle service was efficient, making the trip back to Tsumago seamless. All in all, Tokonamiso offers a unique and serene experience, especially for those wishing to enjoy Japan's rich onsen culture. If you're in the area, it's worth considering a stay here for a peaceful getaway.
